Documenting Lauren and Andrew Sunbury Wedding at Our Lady Mt Carmel Church started with a relaxing drive to their home with planes flying overhead as I passed the airport. Photography was a very important element to the natural way they wanted their story told.
It was very candid approach with the boy’s eager to light up their cigars and pour the scotch once the suits were on. Meanwhile, Lauren and the girls were relaxed, with her mum having everyone laughing as they helped her get into her gorgeous Raffaele Ciuca dress.
With their UK honeymoon booked, it was a perfect touch when the London cab came to pick Lauren up for the ceremony. I’m sure Andrew knew when Lauren had arrived at the church with the cab’s horn blaring as it came up the driveway.
I had been down to Sunbury, the week before, to scout out some key locations and was very happy with what I found. The dramatic lighting at the Sunbury Court House, next to the church, was a great place to start. With puffy clouds lining the sky and no direct sunlight we dropped by the old railway bridge and the front of the Goona Warra Vineyard for some artistic landscape photographs.
Before heading off to their reception at Fenix the guys wanted to stop near the car park, on the outskirts of the airport, to get a photo of a plane flying overhead. We had to compromise with Andrew buying everyone ice creams from the vintage Mr. Whippy truck. The airplanes were landing from the opposite side that day.
They say nothing too exciting happens in Sunbury, well unless you were at Lauren and Andrew’s wedding. Enjoy.
