“Our journey has been a long one, through an early start for an Indian wedding, to a day long shoot for a white wedding, and then capturing some precious moments of our first son, Henry. The first being our wedding and the subsequent two being photo sessions of our growing family. Our experience may resonate with those who have thought of a family portrait and hesitated, presuming that intimate familial connections would be diluted in a professional setting.
As you knew then, Nicola and I wanted to mark this phase of our family, in time.
As you know now. I am camera shy and Nicola photographs well with just enough vanity to pose with her best profile. With spot lights, a camera and call to action, we presumed children would pull faces that adults reserve for their best passport photographs…not so! I did not feel embarrassed in front of the camera, Nicola found she had two best profiles (!) and the children (Mayan and Arya) were truly themselves.
Our selection of photos was a dilemma of many great choices. We wanted them all, in varying dimensions and in the moment unable to conceptualise presentation. Patient advice founded in experience was most helpful in narrowing our selection and then in selecting our final dozen.
The experience assures the professional outcome. It is clever photography. We want to draw attention to the process. No make-up, no special clothes, uncontrived, the journey felt relaxed and natural. It was fun and the images tell of that story.
Our photos are unique and to be treasured.”
