Maryse and Jude’s stylish Luminare wedding was such a relaxed, fun and heartfelt event. A lot of attention was put into every detail of their Sri Lankan wedding, especially the theming at Luminare.
There seemed to be a little devine intervention regarding the story of how Maryse & Jude met. Maryse’s mother had found a pray card at the church they attended and started praying for her daughter to find a “good guy”. Now you might say mum has connections in high places, as it just so happened, she was praying to St Jude. Thankfully she was sitting down when Maryse first told her the name of her new boyfriend and now husband.
Being around these two is infectious. Within a couple of minutes you feel part of their whole family. They are so generous and thoughtful of others. Mayrse hand packed snack boxes, incase any of her guests got hungry after the ceremony. With a large number of guest coming from Sydney, Jude chartered a bus so they could easily get, from the hotel to St Mary’s Star of the Sea and then to Luminare for the reception.
After the ceremony we headed off to the Queen Victoria Gardens, and around the National Gallery of Victoria for some more artistic location photos.
The themeing at Luminare was very stylish, colourful, and a little bit gangster. The Design Depot did a phenomenal job with every detail from the colourful Vassette flower wall, behind the bridal table, their names branded on the elevator doors, and the now M&J initials in a giant lightbox.
With the Melbourne cityscape as their backdrop, Maryse and Jude were lead onto the Luminare balcony by traditional Kandyan drummers and dancers for their first dance. The guest created a semi circle to greet them, as the sun set.
Maryse decided that she mightn’t be able to hold back the tears if she danced with her dad Ranjan. Unbeknownst to her, Jude and Ranjan had other plans. After entree, Maryse and Jude walked onto the dance floor. Maryse looked amazing in her Pallas Couture dress as Jude held her tight. Dad’s cue had arrived. He walked straight towards Maryse as Jude stepped aside for their first dance together. Let’s just say neither Maryse or myself could hold back the tears. Camera got a little wet.
Thank you Jude and Maryse for to opportunity to capture your very unique wedding. would like me to capture your wedding story,
