Julie and Matthews wedding was like photographing two close friends. Things started connecting when they came in for their engagement shoot with their dog Hudson. As Hudson couldn’t make it to the wedding we designed a signature book, with their engagement photos, so guest could write a personal message on the day.
It was a perfect sunny day for a wedding in the country as I drove to De-Vine Escape Fergusons Winery where the boys were getting ready. The patchy clouds against the blue sky provided for some very dramatic landscape photos.
Arriving at Yering Gorge Cottages the bridesmaids were stirring up Julie as Jess from Savvy bride put the final touches to her makeup. After mum and the girls helped Julie sip into her Essence of Australia dress, things got a little emotional when dad saw his stunning little girl for the first time.
The ceremony was held at The Vines Restaurant where they exchanged a single red rose and released a box of butterflies to mark their new journey together. J&M were a dream to photograph around the winery with the afternoon sun setting, providing some gorgeous lighting with the vineyards in the background. The speeches were well worth the wait as both fathers took it in turns, letting loose a few secretes about their children. They had all the guest in hysterics.
