Melbourne Street Photography

September 11th, 2011
Tweet

Back in my film days I always loved heading into the Melbourne streets, with a bag filled with coloured filters, 120 rolls of black&White Ilford Delta400 and a medium format Mamiya camera. The excitement building as I  rushed home to spend the night in the darkroom creating.  Now I keep the love affair with my hometown going but use my Leica Delux 4. Compact, beautiful results and very unobtrusive which is what you need for street photography.  Have been using the macro setting on the Leica to photograph some of these cityscapes.

Currently working on a series based around the way the late afternoon sun reflects though the city, using my hand to frame certain Melbourne icons, and the blurred motion of shadows once the sun has set.
