Emma & Matt | Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and Prince of Wales Hotel Wedding

February 28th, 2014
Tweet

I stumbled upon an amazing images form Emma and Matt’s wedding at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and had to share their story.

I had previously photographed Emma’s gorgeous sister Melissa’s classical wedding at the Royal Botanical Gardens and jumped at the chance to do it all again.

Matt and the boys got ready in a Spanish style villa in St Kilda while Emma and the girls got ready at the contemporary Prince of Wales Hotel. The photo I stumbled upon was taken in the hotel foyer with a sequence or ached lights that framed Emma in her gorgeous dress perfectly.

Clear sunny day, with the lake as their backdrop, while close family and friends watch on as Matt and Emma exchanged rings.  Our focus after the ceremony was for a more natural style around the gardens followed by an artistic, urban street feel around the St Kilda beach foreshore near The Espy Hotel.

Now I don’t normally get distracted, focusing on all those little hidden moment at weddings but there are exceptions. As the bridal party was announced, on the roof top balcony of The Prince, their MD had a very unique character description/critique of each member that had everyone, including myself, in hysterics. Laughter is always a great distraction, even when I’m smiling behind the camera.
